The Park is located in an area of almost 91 thousand discontinued hectares in the South coastland of Bahia, inside of a whole of coral reefs, volcanic islands and channels. The largest area includes the Parcel and Abrolhos archipelago, which is formed by the volcanic islands, Redonda, Siriba, Sueste and Guarita. The reefs of Timbebas formed the second area, The reefs formed two arches: one of them is costing and another is small and internal. |

| The National Marine Park of Abrolhos is the first Brazilian park of such kind and was created in 1983 with the purpose to guarantee the preservation of the coral reefs, and the local fauna and flora on account of its ecology importance. |

| Every year, between the months of July and November, they go throughout 5 thousand Km, coming from the South Atlantic, searching the utmost point of the South of Bahia. They are the Jubart Whales which run away from the rigorous winter and from frozen waters of the Antarctic ocean to spend its "honey moon", reproduction and nursing at Abrolhos. |

As well known as singer whales or acrobatic whales, the Jubart enchant by its friendliness and the way which they approach to the boats making incredible acrobatics and emitting sounds which looks like the coupling dance. Watching whales is the preferred pleasure of thousands of tourists that came to the Jubart seasons. In 1997 The national Institute of Jubart Whales registered the appearance of 1,200 Jubarts at region.
